Hi Today I built a core2duo e6400, it doesn't boot up. I don't know why, buy read the following maybe it helps you guys to find out why: I have connected the BT's fan connector to the cpu's 4 pin connecter, including the ground pin: GND, CPU FAN PWR and CPU FAN IN. the last pin is unused, which is CPU FAN PWM. and guess what, my system doesn't start. the little light on the mobo lights up, and when I press the power button, for second, and just for a second the big typhoon's and the PSU(hyper)'s second fan start to work, but they stop after less than a second. The PSU's first fan which is outwards works after that, very gently. what can be the problem? and one thing more... on the system panel connector, the system power LED(2-pin PLED) is not connected, since I can't find it in the case. Could it be from this? help me, I am desperate now, don't know what to do... I use: Geil 1 gb 6400 800mhz 5-5-5-12 RAM Asus P5B dulx/wifi ap 965 mobo Big Typhoon as CPU air cooler Hyper 530 w, type R
Ok sounds like youve got a dodgy component in there. Try turning it on with 1 stick of ram a graphics card and of course the mobo and cpu. Then progressivley add all the other bits and find which one is shorting it out! Lecsiy
all I have in the system is: 2x512 Geil 6400, 800mhz, 5-5-5-12 cpu, e6400 mobo, asus P5B dulx/wifi AP dvd-wr, nec harddisk, western digital sata II video card, msi nx 7300gt nothing more... I tried the RAM sticks one by one, but it didn't help. can it be because the RAM is not compatible with the mobo?
problem solved... I had screwed the Big Typhoon too hard to the CPU. I loosened the screws a little and it booted up very gently
