hi, if there is already a thread that discusses this please point me in that direction. anyway on to the problem at hand: i demuxed the blu-ray movie stream (from the blu-ray i own) i wanted and got the 264 file and AC3 file using TSmuXer. then i used ripbot to make them into a mkv file. it took several hours last night but it worked. but now the mkv when i play it is out of sync with the video and audio half way thru. keep in mind i skipped ahead to find out. but the weird thing is when i play mkv's i downloaded it doesn't get out of sync even when i skip ahead. here is my specs: Windows Vista Premium Intel® Core™ 2 Quad CPU @2.40 GHz 2.00 GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS Service Pack 1 32-Bit Operating System Hard Drive (New Internal I Just Got - The One I Ripped The Files To) - 1.36 TB capacity - 959 GB currently left i tried playing these files in media player classic. and when i played it in that player i tried changing the priority in task manager higher (heard it worked for someone else on another forum) but that didn't change anything. My plan is to use these files on my XBOX360 thru TVersity program. I was able to stream mkv's thru that. please help. thanks in advance!
If the async is not caused by a slow PC (I cannot play large MKV files) and the async is constant through the movie - play it back with VLC and use the Ctrl-l or Ctrl-k keys to adjust and note the setting where it plays properly (you can play it with MPC and use the keypad + or - keys). Demux the file with MKVExtract and Mux them with MKVMerge. In MKVMerge, enter the delay (+ or -) that you read from VLC or MPC. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MKVExtractGUI http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MKVtoolnix
hey, i got more info. i just demuxed another blu-ray to see if i can figure out the problem in tsmuxer and here is what i saw after i finished demuxing: SmartLabs tsMuxeR. Version 1.8.8(b) http://www.smlabs.net Decoding H264 stream (track 1): Profile: High@4.1 Resolution: 1920:1080p Frame rate: 23.976 H.264 muxing fps not set. Get fps from stream. Decoding TRUE-HD stream (track 2): Bitrate: 640Kbps AC3 core + HD data. Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 6 TRUE-HD bad frame detected. Resync stream. Decoding TRUE-HD stream (track 2): Bitrate: 640Kbps AC3 core + HD data. Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 6 TRUE-HD bad frame detected. Resync stream. Decoding TRUE-HD stream (track 2): Bitrate: 640Kbps AC3 core + HD data. Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 6 Processed 181298 video frames Demux complete. Demuxing time: 74 min 23 sec here's what i had it set in options prior to demuxing: (downconvert TRUE-HD to AC3 option clicked on Under General - Mux VBR - on Use async I/O - clicked on) i clicked downconvert TRUE-HD to AC3 on cause i am eventually going to run these on xbox360 so that i can play it on my HDTV. i guess there's something set up regarding that that's causing the audio lag in the encoded mkv's. anyone know what i can do to fix this? thanks!
never mind. i tried another program called eac3to (latest stable version) and the mkv's i'm making with it are flawless. i use mkvtools to mux the audio afterwards. no audio lag problems. thanks anyway guys.
