    **Finished** http://s84.photobucket.com/albums/k6/21q2/Xbox Pc/?start=0 **Finished**

Well now that I have all the parts I can finally start my project. I am going to build a pc inside of my xbox. At the moment I have an unknown ghz processor, 512mb ram, integrated graphics, dvd cd-rw combo drive, 80gb hd, and a 210w psu. I plan to make all of this internal and make the xbox look at stock as possible. I will be starting tomorrow as it's kinda late right know. For pics of all the parts here is a link to them.
    Tell me what you think.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I had modify the psu. It was to long so I took out the fan and bent the metal back and forth until I was able to get it down to size. But now I'm afraid that with the fan on the side of it the psi may over heat, in that case I'll have to remove the xbox jewel and replace it with a fan.

At the moment this is just a project of, so I won't be using it as a main computer. I'm going to install a legit copy of xp home and possibly put osx86. I need to buy some, uh I don't know the name but it's a strip of metal with holes in it to mount things. Update when I get back from that.

Turning a PC into a... PC? lol

You could just have run linux on the thing. If stuff doesn't fit you could always try have an external powersupply like the 360.

To put a mod chip, although requires skill, doesn't meet what I'm looking for. I really got to get those mounting things, what ever they are called, and unlike the 360pc I want everything to be internal. I may even get a wireless g card for it.

do you know what motherboard and processor type you are going to use? also how do you plan to cool it? the xbox doesnt have very good ventilation. my modded xbox idles at about 45c and gets alot warmer than that. also is there anyway that you could rebuild the psu to be the same dimensions as the original xbox psu?

    Update!!!

Well I started to day, and midway through I realized something .... I forgot to measure the hight of the ram... So after going crazy trying to find a fix and rearranging stuff I am going to need to use a laptop drive, the only one I have is cd-rom drive. Besides that though everything is going great and now I have to find a way to not have all my parts on top of the motherboard, oh yeah I ripped the parallel ports off the motherboard since they are legacy ports, I need the space. So here is a link to update pics, I'm liking my power button especially(left-hdd light, right-power on light).

Good luck hope it turns out fine.

Also try not to work on PC components on carpet. They tend not to work if you do that.

Not on carpet huh, got it then, but I will have to store my parts there. I'm still not sure if I should just keep the laptop drive I have or to buy a new dvd-rw drive. And thanks for the good comments, it makes feel motivated.

I read your post on the Linux forum, people are hard there aren't they?

As for the carpet static electricity will kill your components. In fact watch this it will make sure you know the horrors of static electricity.
