my pc is playing up

i dont know what is actually wrong with my pc but here is what it doing!
It is networked to a main pc, the network is working but when you type in a web address say like this one www.afterdawn.com it will then change to say www.afterdawn.com.org or
www.www.afterdawn.com.net
Then the pc just wont do anything it doesnt freeze but it just does nothing you cant open any web pages up.
Does anyone know what this is or how i can fix it

hey thanks for all the ideas i just had to fiddle around with the network connection and everything is now working perfectly thanks for your help!
