I had bought the PS2 long time ago. After I turned on the PS2, the red screen had shown and the disc hadn't boot.
I found that my PS2 can boot with the chip at the first time only.
The functions of the modchip are able to use at the first time and I can use the fastboot function. After I restart the PS2 (turn to Standby and turn on the PS2), the functions cannot use and the PS2 cannot boot the disc.

Does anyone can help me to solve the problem??
    Thank you=]

Can you even get to the Matrix Configuration Menu at all by pressing TRIANGLE + CIRCLE at power on.

I am not sure of your problem. Did it work fine before, do you remember?

How was the backup burned that you are trying. Is it a DVD backup or a CD backup?

Red Screen usually means the PS2 can't understand the FORMAT of the disc you are trying?
