    hey
i have a Samsung SyncMaster 931BW which i got in replace of an old monitor that wasn't working.
This new screen strecthes everyting. You can easily see the difference between this and a normal screen. Websites are stretched. Is there a way that items can be normal size and shape, yet use the whole screen.
    thanks

another exmaple is on a normal screen, in word document the size of an a4 page is the smae if you hold an actual piece up against the screen, on the samsung it is streched well past that.

It's a widescreen monitor, and you haven't changed your resolution.

Right click on the desktop, and go 'settings' for XP, 'personalise' for Vista, and change the display resolution to 1440x900.

    hi
    thanks sam
but under this setting it has 'screen resolution'
    the options are
    800x600
    1024x768
    1152x864
    1280x720
    1280x1024
    1600x1200
    1920x1440
    2048x1536
    there is no 1440x900
i have tested all of these and none of them work properly other than 1024x768, which i using now.
