I have a Sony DVD Burner that I installed in my computer. When I first installed, would burn at 8x when burning a movie with DVD Decrypter, but recently, it only burns at a max of 2.8x. Anybody know why? Can't figure it out. Using same media and same program.

Are you still using the same pack/spindle?

Or did you change packs/spindles-but same brand name?

What's the model number of your sony?
What is the firmware version of it?

What is the brand name/format/and speed rate of your blank media.

Maybe you went to a different pack/spindle of the same brand name, and that MID code changed? Most major brands of media has many different manufacturers. That MID code can change between spindles and different quantity of packs/spindles.Their package may be identical, but the manufacturer can change, even when you purchase them at the same time.

You also need your dma's set to UDMA/DMA/or if available, on your primary and secondary controllers.
