Bought it five days ago and all i was getting was bad channel scramble etc

Checked it on a mates cable whose using a starview the same as with latest sofware already installed et and whose had no problems and it was still shagged.

Im debating now whether to stick with starview or try a eurovox.

Daft question, but have you gone into the hidden menu and turned the emulation on to decode the channels?

    (Menu > Parental Control > type 1570 & press info / or 2004 & info)

If yes, have you tried manually inputting the latest keys?

Well it came with the latest 4 firmware which according to instruction means it was simply plug and play !

Mates box worked fine and we are in the same C&W area.

It probably is all up to date. If it says "Bad or Scambled channel" the emulation (EMU) may be switched off.

Go to the hidden menu ("info" then 2004 or "menu" then 1570) and see if it's on. If it's off just turn it on and you should be fine (mine was off when I bought the box).

If it's on and you're still getting that problem, go to Nagravision in the same menu and check the C&W keys, they should be:

    00: 1F EE 87 F9 E3 FA 2A AB
    01: 5B 36 AE 71 F5 21 D1 3D

Last but not least try factory reset and rescan, it might just be that the frequencies have changed for the channel you're trying to watch.
