My friend was trying to free up some space and used the app XBpartition and reduced the X,Y,Z drives size to 0MB, when i go to file explorer on the dashboard, it shows the C,D,E drives, but not the others. Also, it won't play any of the games and won't load any of the apps, including XBpartition. Help me please.

Well that's clever...these are local cache drives, so you well messed it up...How is the box modded??? you need to put the apps you need on a bootable disk and then restore the partitions.. If it is a softmod this might be a very expensive mistake....

one thing that you could do is if you can get evox or what ever on your box you can get the eeprom key and crap then using a softmod installign a larger hard drive found at xbox-scene.com you can use that metheod to unlosck the xbox then get all the required apps for pc to prepare it as though it was a new drive i can help you out with it in further detail before you start if there are further questions (i did that mistake as well opps :p)

Well if it isn't booting anything at all it's a bad situation. .
There are only 2 modes of attack here...Fitting a chip or reading the eeprom. It all depends how technical you want to get.

Heres a link to the article on how to read the eeprom data to unlock the drive in a way that it can be repaired and locked again..

    http://llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/Reading_Xbox_Hdd_key.htm

Good luck with it, I've seen this once or twice and believe..it's the only 2 ways to fix it.... don't be worried about posting for help on llamma..very nice helpful people

I would reccomend going he chip with a new hard drive route, so safe, so easy, so.....the end results are cool. If you want modchip buying, purchasing, and installing advice, holla.

Hey, my xbox booted up some apps, some, not many, they are all apps that i don't need. My xbox also loads the HQ-Auto Installer Delux, but no games. And the unlocking thing, i do it all the time by hotswapping, why do i need to do it that way.

the reason for you to unlock the hard drive is so that you can copy all your files off of the hard drive if there anyting you want to keep

then you want to prepare the hard drive shown at xboxscene tutfor installing a larger harddrive in a softmod box from there once you prep the drive it will restore the hard drive partiotions CEFXYZ

if ya can't find the tut i can give a link
