HEY lads. I know ive posted stuff like this before but i cant seem to find my previous posts. Also my problem is slightly different this time.
My NAT connection is moderate and ive been trying to change it for the last few months. My way of checking the NAT connection is going onto the halo 3 matchmaking section which shows a message saying "Your NAT is not open. Matchmaking may be slow." Every time I try something, the message does not appear, and i am convinced my NAT is open. However, a couple of days later, I always am dissapointed when the message reappears. If anyone knows a more accurate way of checking, please let me know
Here are my current status. (I have a BT Voyager 2110)
    Connection- Wired
DHCP Server- Dont know what it means but it is enabled
    UPnP-Enabled
Thanks in advance for any help, and if any more info is needed please let me know

in the old dashboard when you go to myxbox, network settings, check xboxlive connection... it would show your NAT. Not sure if the NXE still has that as I have never had any connection problems. Also you can log onto your router and look for 'advanced settings' and should see it there. if not, try updating the firmware of your router, they may have added some NAT menus. If none of that helps just set a static IP to the xbox and DMZ that ip in the router. SHould help a bunch.

As far as not being able to find your other posts... in the uper right hand corner of every afterdawn page it says your screen name, beneath that click "edit my account", when that window opens click "List of Your Forum Posts", shows every thread you have ever been involved with.

im pretty sure to rid the NXE dashboard is to go to the sytem settings click on memory and press Y for device options you can rename your hard drive/memory card and it also says to delete update choose that. not sure if you can play live without it but give it a shot.

I forgot to mention.... if you purchase LIVE via a credit card through the dashboard you should not remain DMZ'd. ALthough the information is encrypted there are reports of people getting hacked. No reports of credit card fraud but some say messsages sent fromt their accounts that they didn't send. If you use "Live Cards" bought from a store then no real personal information is in jeopardy.

If you want to turn DMZ off you can try creating a static IP connection between your router and Xbox 360.

Then forward ports 53/80/88/3074 to the Xbox 360 (apply both TCP/UDP protocol on the ports).

Start off by going to the Internet connection settings on your 360.

    Change from DHCP to static.

Your router IP should be 192.168.1.1 by default.

So in the 360 input the below information.

    IP: 192.168.1.5
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    gateway: 192.168.1.1

    DNS: 192.168.1.1

If you don't know how to forward your ports in your router then go HERE and select your router in the list. Then select Xbox Live 360 on the next page. This will show you how to forward your ports.

You should also be able to assign the 192.168.1.5 IP address to the MAC address of the 360 in your router. This will permanently assign that IP to the MAC address of the 360.
