Ok, first I would like to say how much my Xbox is pissing me off because I have had problem after problem with this thing!

Now that I got that out, the problem. When I press the power button on the Xbox it will very quickly turn on and off. The only reason I can tell is because I have installed a lighted fan, and it will flicker on and off. Otherwise I would think the Xbox is not recieving any power at all. The light does not turn green, it does nothing.

It is softmodded, and I have upgraded the harddrive. I do not think it is the hard drive, because I have not seen any signs of it failing. I was able to turn the xbox on by pressing the disk open button, but that only worked once. Now both buttons will not work, they just cause the quick flicker. I have checked the wires and checked that they were secure and they are.

Please give me any advice that you have,

    Thanks

    UPDATE:
If I unplug the dvd power cord it still will turn on and off, but if I hold down the power of dvd open the xbox will eventually turn on but then give me error 12. Is it possible that it is my power supply? I would buy a replacement one, but I do not want to if it will not fix it. I also tried to use another xbox dvd drive, and it did not turn on.

Anyone have any idea what I can do? Sometimes I can get it to start by holding the button with the DVD-rom plugged in, but it will freeze during boot.

I would check all the power supllies on the xbxo basically anything and everything that plug into some thing else, unplug and replug it. And changing ur power supply or the outlet ur using could also help. Btw u can call up xbox support and they might give u one the replacement cords they had for the power cord recall.
