awhile back i upgraded my softmodded xbox's HD. Everything was great for a while till i had an urge to play halo 2 which i had been neglecting and it froze after i press start on the start menu.... after further testing a few more games wouldnt work (amped 2, Nba street vol. 3,conker live and reloaded, Jedi Knight Jedi Academy) it plays all my other games just fine....so i put the original harddrive in and it worked for a while until i messed it up by trying to transfer the save file from the big hardrive so now both hardrives wont play those games( i rebuilt the original one) is there anything i can do?
did you try deleting the cache?? go to E/Cache and delete all the files in there....if that dont work your gamesaves are corrupt and you will need to delete them.....
i will try that buts heres what happened............. I tranfered the saves and one failed to tranfer i guess but the xbxo was workin fine after that i had all my saves after the first reboot and played them.....by the third time i put a game in the thing would not load it stayed on the the little xbox logo..........so i went ahead and reformatted the hardrive like i would a hd upgrade and then i started acting like my bigger hardrive and being pciky over games but i will see if that idea works im backing it up right now..................ok deleting............testing halo 2..........omg it works! thank you so much i owe you one!
OKAY im VERY curious WHY does this work !! ?????? I have like 5 games that keept frezing there asses and some of them wouldnt even start up at all! Now after doing the "TRICK" it works!! So why is that ???? What is so bad in the cache that it can stop games from working! ?
Thank you so much for being the only person on these ENTIRE forums to know what the crap they were talking about. I did this trick and now ALL my games work just fine! Praise you oh great and marvelous XBox Modding God!!! Now my next problem is posted in a new thread on the forums. Check it out and see if you can figure out how to help me.
the xbox is just like a computer if your cache is all used up your computer runs slower same with the xbox so everymonth or so delete the cache...
If you use XBMC, you will notice the same issue, except that it's cache is kept in TDATA under a folder called face008. Deleting that speeds it up again too, although it does reset your settings. But it's a worthy trade off.
