With my St*rview box running out of channels due to the Nagra upgrades, I decided to revert back to the official box for a tryout. It's been sitting unused (but powered on and connected to an RF splitter) since I got it last year. It now tells me that it's got no signal, even though the RF cable works fine when I swap it into the St*rview. I tried rescanning for channels, but it found nothing. I know it kind of goes against the tone of a lot of the other posts here, but would anyone have any idea what might be going on with it? And how might I restore it to service? Thanks.
If you still have a subscribtion (which you probably have), then the U*C b0x will have to be left on for a few hours as all channels will be locked. If you have`nt use the U*C b0x for a long while, then you might have to wait up to 5 or 6 hours for the channnels to kick in. The channels will come back
Ta for the interest. The only thing I've done since the N*L guy set it up back then was to remove the scart lead. So the card's always been in it. Since then it's been on and connected to the cable splitter, just with no connection to the TV. Tonight, I just plugged the scart lead in to find "no signal". Tonight, I've bounced the box, and rescanned, but still no signal.
Why don't you call N*L and ask to speak to their technical section, maybe wait on hold for 10 mins untill your put through to the broadband department who won't know who you are and then get transfered back to the new account section whilst waiting for 15 mins. When your cut off , call back and get put back on to the broadband section and when you ask for the technical section you will state them your account number and mothers maiden name for the 11th time. Finally when you get through to the technical section and tell them your problem explain to them that you do actually have a life and don't want to spend another hour waiting on their phone system. When they finally understand who you are and what you want, discuss in length with them how troublesome it might be to take the day off work because it may suit them to call out between 8.00am and 5.30pm on a wednesday forthnight.... Hope this may be of some help to you and best of luck!!!!!
Hehehe.... I would have thought last September was too early to receive your new Nagra3 card so maybe give them a bell to find out the craic or check your post!!
Not getting at you mate Just saying he wouldnt need a card if he`s still subscribed If he is, all he has to do is leave it plugged in overnight & he`ll have his channels back when he wakes up.
Oh I know you weren't mate. It's just when I asked, he said he'd received a card last September...!! I'd reckon it's a leave overnight jobbie and all's well in the morn.
I got one last year (think it was around September) when they replaced the box. I`m assuming they replaced the b0x??
Hi again, Apologies for the noshow for a few days - ended up getting called into work on an emergency, then heading away for easter - only back at base now. Still no channels on the official box, and I'm stumped. Here's a reminder of the situation. N*L replaced my ancient official box with a new one in about September of last year. They replaced the card then as well. As soon as their guy left, I hooked back up my dodgybox, and resumed normal service. I hooked the dodgybox up through an RF (coax) cable splitter / booster, so that the official box has always been plugged into the cable feed, I just haven't SCARTed it to the TV. When I ran a SCART from the official box through to the TV, the official box complains of no signal, even though the dodgy box is quite happy with the signal. I now want to retire my dodgy box as it is not up to Nagra 2/3, but can't see how to fix my offical box. Any help appreciated.
I have had the same problem in the past. Call N*L/U*C and they will fix it for you while you are on the phone. Unfortunately you will have to wait an age for them to respond initially.
