I have been searching the site for a while and can't seem to find this info. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this stuff but I'm handy enough with electronics etc.

I *had* a basic N*L digital MMDS setup in Galway. I cancelled the account a few years back but they left the antenna, box etc. If I get a Starview 4 (I know a guy selling one), will I be able to connect it to the antenna cable instead of the old N*L box and get all the channels if the box is set up properly or will I need to connect it in series with the old box?

Although we have the antenna still up and orientated correctly, I think we might have thrown out the N*L box so it's no good buying the Starview if I need that to get going.

Thanks for your help and sorry for not knowing what I'm on about!

Dude its not worth the hassle - all these boxes will be useless very soon. Have a look at a few of the threads about missing channels

Thanks for the update. I hadn't seen any of the recent threads about the new encryption.

Does anyone know if these boxes will have any use at all when the Nagra3 kicks in? Could it be used for the new FTA DTT transmissions when they come online?

Does anyone seem to know what will be left on N*L MMDS using Nagra1 if anything?
