I downloaded the newest version of Surreal in a zip file, and I've unzipped it, but it doesn't come in a simple .exe file. Where do I need to put it on my harddrive and do I just copy the files into the folder and it will run?

the xbox doesnt use .exe files. it uses .xbe files. its just the excutable file type for the xbox. all you need to do is put it in a emulator folder on your box, reboot and you should be set

Well, I've installed every file that I got for Surreal, but it just freezes on EvoX's loading screen, so I don't really know what I've done wrong.

Does your Surreal have a default.xbe file in its folder? It needs that file to boot.

If it has that file then it should run, I don't know then. Did you get it from xbins? Just to make sure it's a legit emulator.

hey everyone. Is there a specific place to put emulators? I am using evolutionx v+3935. It says launch emulators on my main screen but there is no "emulators" folder on the e: drive like there is for the apps. Do I have to make a folder called emulators or am I just way off base here?

Yup make a folder called "Emulators" and then put the emulators in there. Place the "Emulators" folder in E:\Emulators and see if that works, if not then E:\Apps\Emulators

thanks achilles3. Hey can I use The file manager in dvd2xbox to do that or will I need another app? Again thanks. I just softmodded today and that was my first time so I really appreciate the help.

I don't think you can do that with DVD2XBOX, it has to be done with FTP I think. Let me get this clear, you want to play the emulators off the discs or from the HDD? If you're playing from the discs then you don't need to make that "Emulators" folder on E.

No I wanna play them from the hdd. I just am not sure how to make a folder and I don't wanna mess anything up

OK just use FTP and make the folder on E:\ you will not mess it up.

Well, I have a copy of UltraXLE on my harddrive as well. Could that be interfering with Surreal booting up?

It's possible, just delete it since Surreal also has UltraHLE in it as well.

I doubt it is interfering because it would only boot from items with in its root directory. the only way it could interfer is if both emulators are within the same folder (not just the "emulator" folder)
