hi! i was just looking around forums etc and found out that apparently virgin media are testing Nagra2 encryption in Ireland at the moment and may change from nagravision encryption to the new nagra2 encryption in uk. and aparently itgate 220 are the only boxes that will be able to decrypt this :S. is this all true? and if it is how long until they do this? and will a kryptview box work after the change?
Chorus and ntl ireland were bought from UPC some times ago and UPC Ireland has no affiliation to Virgin Media. UPC can do what they want independently of the UK. Beside that every linux based box can descramble nagra2 if someone cracked the nagra2 card of a provider. If nobody crack a provider card no box can descramble the channels of such a provider.
Oh right i didn't know virgin media wasn't part of Ireland too lol. so boxes like Kryptview (which i got recently) and star view wont be able to decrypt the new encryption :S even with firmware updates etc. thnx for replying btw
nagra 2 has been hacked to a certain degree its the different versions that havent been,so no boxes will be able to decrypt the signal untill the version is cracked
Cards are cracked not the scrambling system. Precondition is always a cracked card of a provider which deliver all informations. If nobody is willing or able to crack a card there is nothing possible for such a provider.
