nasty loop on my pc

    my pc goes into a loop on boot up, it gets to the welcome screen and then loops back to boot.
    i have been told that it may be due to a virus that attacks your BIOS,
    has anyone else heard of this and is there a cure,, or do i throw the damn thing in the bin??
    DESPRATE for help!!!

    try reseating the ram as i've run into that on some customers' computers.
