hi, I heard this drive was supposed to be out in early April, has anyone heard about a release date???
ok, i did some looking, and found it in a German website for €350.. thats not too bad for a +/- drive!!! has anyone had any experiences of it??
It is out now. I've been looking at it because it's a dual-format unit, and is (about $150 Can) less expensive than the prestige Sony DRU-500AX (or the even newer DRU-510AX) model, and basically, does the same thing anyway. Not to mention, I've got $230-worth of DVD+RWs and a busted Ricoh burner, otherwise I'd stick to -R/W only. (minus camp). So, has anybody actually purchased the NEC-1300 yet? I've been <kinda> spoiled by the simplicity of external, USB-connected units (simplicity), and although I believe the NEC-1300 is an IDE internal-only, I can live with 20-30 minutes of installation woes. I don't care so much about high-speed (4x) DVD burning, as I do about clean, accurate, reliable burns. -- Obliged, Mike --
