NEC 2500A not burning Maxell 1-16x discs

    Hi all,

    My question is pretty simple: Is the NEC 2500A (firmware 1.0A) able to burn Maxell DVD-R 1-16x speed discs?

    I have been burning Maxell DVD-R 1-4x discs with no problem, but since buying the 1-16x I've had no joy.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Well the drive is somewhat older - the last update was 3/05 so 16x media may give it a problem depending on what media codes where in the last update.
    For this drive try and find 8x media - if not try Verbatim 16x.
    Online you can still get 8x media like Taiyo Yuden - great stuff - just use a reputable site.

    Kinda what I thought. Oh well, they won't be wasted as they work perfectly well on my Sony DVD/HD TV recorder :)
