I have a nec1300a dvd writer and am using a voodoo 3000 3dfz graphics card. I have made sure that I have all the latest and greatest device drivers and firemware but when I try and play a DVD movie [region 2] I get a can't open video stream error. Any help and suggestions would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks in advance
Is the drive set to play region 2 discs? What software are you using to play the disc? Can you play other discs or none at all?
The region is set to United Kingdom [which I think is regio2] and I can happily browse files on CD or DVD using the normal explorer. The software that was bundled with the DVD recored is Sonic CinePlayer.
The closest thing I could find to your error on Sonic's website is "cannot initialize video stream" to which they say you must make sure full hardware acceleration is enabled in your video card's settings. Let us know if this doesn't help. I'm not familiar with the Voodoo series of cards so I can't tell you if there's a setting for it or where it is. _ _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Gigabyte 8INXP, Intel P4HT 3.06 Mushkin 1024 MB PC2100 Sapphire 9800 Pro Plextor PX-708A/Plextor Premium/LTD-166S M-Audio Revolution 7.1 "And we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight."
