NEC6500A Slow Speeds.

Hoping someone might be able to help. My NEC6500A is flashed to latest firmware (203D) and will not read or write above 1X. Flashed it after I noticed slow speeds.
Doesn't seem to be a software problem as it happens with all my burning programs. Nero, DVD Decrypter, Nero 7, DVD Shrink and Alcohol 120.
Can't tell u when it was first became apparent. Would it be fair to say that my drive is Cactus!

Any help appreciated.

 

Did your drive come in a Dell PC and have you recently flashed this drive yourself?

 

Have managed to solve my problem Ripper. Uninstalled DVD/CD Rom and Secondary IDE Channel. Downloaded FORCEASPI17 and problem solved.
