ok, so i got a couple of questions about codecs and formats
    1) mpeg2,mpeg,mpeg4 those are formats??? they are ways that video and audio are being compressioned???
2)x264 is an encoding for mpeg4??? so if u take an mpeg4 video and encode it with the x264 u get those new releases of: mp4,x265.mkv???
3)mpeg4 is better then mpeg2?? and hour of mpeg4 video takes in more place than an hour of mpeg2???
i would appreciate any of ur answers, as i am very confiused...tnx :)

    1) MPEG, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, etc. are standards. MPEG = Motion Picture Expert Group. The standards define various things including audio and video compression.

    2) x264 is an MPEG-4 Part 10 video encoder. The cli encoder can output mkv, mp4 or raw files.

    3) Define better? Generally MPEG-4 Part 10 should achieve the quality of MPEG-2 at a lower bitrate. There is also MPEG-4 Part 2 (Xvid and DivX are MPEG-4 Part2) though. Still the same applies.
