I don't seem to have a lot of luck with these HJSplit files. This avi came in 11 parts. They all looked like this in the download window:

    http://rapidshare.com/files/283852882/menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.001
    http://rapidshare.com/files/283848368/menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.002
    http://rapidshare.com/files/283848458/menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.003
    http://rapidshare.com/files/283857788/menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.004
    http://rapidshare.com/files/283850503/menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.005
    http://rapidshare.com/files/283855748/menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.006
    http://rapidshare.com/files/283855761/menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.007
    http://rapidshare.com/files/283848428/menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.008
    http://rapidshare.com/files/283855639/menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.009
    http://rapidshare.com/files/283858436/menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.010
    http://rapidshare.com/files/283844133/menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.011

Then it said on the bottom to join with HJSpilt. All of the files ended up downloading just like they appear above, starting with menda and all ending with .avi, dot and a number, except for the first file which, after I downloaded it just apeared as .avi but with no dot number.

Anyway I tried to join them with HJSplit and it made an avi out of it, but it would not play in Windows Media Player. I read somewhere that if you have problems with these types of files that you have to rename them, but I tried many different combination's of renaming and I also tried leaving the extension off, changing it, you name it, and I could not get it to work.

    Suggestions?

For the file that gets renamed, add the .001 extension to the end of it. And then open it with HJSplit. It is a simple program and the only problem you will encounter is with misnamed files. After renaming the file back to menda_68_D_rthfrd.avi.001 open the .001 file with HJSplit, assuming .001 through .011 are all in the same directory HJSplit will join the files/extract the files within.

I think I tried that, though I can't remember for sure. It got so frustrating and I tried so many things! I did contact the person who posted the original links and he was miffed but said he's look into it. I'll try re-downloading and doing what you said at a later time...Thanks for responding though.
