Im getting a HD tv and a ps3. just wondering if someone could reccomend a decent home theater in a box for 500.00 or less. The room size is roughly 15' x 20'. Just want one that can take advantage of the features offered by the ps3. Thanks!

Stay away from BOSE. Way over priced for the money and poor quality. Better stuff out there for less.

Good luck finding an HTIB, in your price range, that will take full advantage of the HD audio formats. Finding one that can handle the video shouldn't be a problem though.

You can get receivers that can handle the HD audio very well, but then you'll need speakers and a subwoofer...........

If you want something good, take your 500$ and wait for a little bit more. HDTV and PS3 Blu-ray movies are CRAZY. Sounds and picture, if you spent 500$, wait 300$ more and take an package like (Denon or Yamaha receiver complete theater).

Or spent on basic plastics speakers like Samsungs, Sony, Panasonic. Their good, but not real like Denon, Yamaha, Harman Kardon, Onkyo theater kits for less than 1000$, for 999$ you have great kit.

Before spending and buying two years later 1000$ because your not satisfy, wait. Anyway HD tv are good sounds and clear present dolby effets. Depending on the model you've got. So you cant wait and buy a great system!

Brother 8ternity, thank you for some sagely advice. An inexpensive sound system is fun at first, but the shine wears off quickly. If we only waited a little and saved a litle more and bought the better quality one, we'd have long lasting enjoyment for years. We now instead feel remorse in buying the "elcheapo" system. Few people I meet in the forum have such a sensible mind set as yourself. My hat's off to you sir. Well spoken.

If you really want an System.. really, got an Yamaka all in a box. You will like it. Or check for liquidation in high end.

Don't purchass JVC. To many problem. Go with sony, yamaha all in one, but SEPARATE AMPLI... without DVD because you already had an great dvd player.
