Basically I have no problem burning anything I'm trying to burn. My problem is that lately when I do a dvd disc copy,at 4x, and "on the fly option"(about 97 percent of a dvd-r) it takes about 29 minutes.??? And before it would only take about 16-17 minutes. Does anyone have any information that would help? Any help will be much apprecciated! Thanx.

There are a few things that you can check/do.

Make sure DMA is enabled on the burner. You can do that by checking the IDE Controllers in Device Manager.

Second, make sure that the firmware for you burner is up to date.

    Third, try a different media.

Fourth, burning on the fly can be a hit/miss situation.

Hey "GrandpaBW" when I go under IDE controllers, I click on primary IDE channel and under advanced setting it says DMA if available on device 0 and device 1. When I click on secondary IDE channel and under advanced setting,on device 0 it says PIO only, and device 1 it says DMA if available. Do I change the that PIO to DMA?
