Im having a few problems with internet explorer. I have dsl and everything connects no problem open internet explorer and search the web no problem but, if i go away from my pc for an hour or so i open explorer and it just doesnt find my homepage or any other pages. I have to disconnect then reconnect and everything ok until i go away again and so on. I am up to date with my virus software, all microsoft security udates . I have ran adaware and virus checked and nothing comes up. I run zonealarm as my firewall as well my pc is ath2400 xp, 256ddr running windows xp can anybody help me
It sounds like something related to power management. Check in the Power Options in Control Panel and make sure than System Standby is set to Never. Sometimes when the system goes into standby to conserve power it shuts down the network card, therefore you lose access to the DSL connection.
