There are sooo many portable players out there and I can't decide which is right for me?
Can anyone recommend one? I’m on my third player (+4yrs Zen M 30gb) and its been crashing/skipping.
I need one that has a lot of space, hi fi, plays link tracks, and if possible. The player is able to make a play list on the spot (unlike ipod).

    Thanks

If you think anything you buy today is going to last 4 yrs you ought to re-think. From the all the complaints from the portable audio player forum I would avoid disked players. They don't make them like they used to when they were expensive. Zens start to die at 6 months, Apples about a year. Zunes have the best disks but the software which must be used, sucks. So few persons use the Zune to get a good idea how they are fairing. If you can tollerate 16 g get a Sansa View. I believe they are the best player out there. They cost only a bit more than a Chipod so your hard earned cash goes far.

My ipod can make on the go play lists. I have never used that feature so I can't say for sure that it works. That is too much work for me. If I am going to make a playlist I do it on my computer where I have a key board and a mouse.

I didn't know all these player had such a short life!? THANK YOU!
Unfortunaly 16gb won't do. Recently I've been looking at 120 gb and more. I've even emailed creativelab(s) if they're gona have a 200gb. Just to let u know. I'm 1 of those people that likes to take my entire library with me and its been growing fast this year! About 2 month ago I finally completed downloading Super Eurobeat volume 001-197! This is huge and they're all mp3! I'm away from my cpu right now but my estimation on the total size of 001-197 is 17gb?

    Rambling - Sorry
    Thanks again

Well if you continue the way you are you will not be able to hold it anyway. 200g is not even close to an extream library. Big ones run in the terabites.

I would either go with the Zune or find one that you can keep under warentee. The creatives are the worst. Maybe you don't mind buying replacements twice a year. They are hacking Zens to put small flash drives where the disks go so they will last a year.

    This isn't good news
I thought creative is pretty good - They did make all those sound cards.
Well... o.k. I'll go to Best Buy and get a personal feel of the zune.
NOTE: 2005-When I was working as a hardware technician for a PC
repair service. I manage to meet some one who had 1tb of mp3
on his 3.5 Hard Drive! He just wanted it be backup on a brand
    new and reliable Hard Drive.

    Thanks Mez, from Sistergra

I saw you were checking out the generic portable forum. Did you see that one post. They had to replace the drive multiple times in 6 months for a Creative. The apple warentee does not even cover all items you need to have more than one warentee to be fully covered. They do not make them like the used to.

The problem with the Zune is you are forced to use software written by morons. They are doing so poorly they may not have cheapened their HDs.
