after dawn community, I have a question about building websites. I can't find a forum specifically for this and I run Windows XP, so I thought I'd throw my questions in here. If my questions are better served elsewhere, I'll apologize to the moderators in advance.

I'm attempting to build a website that is creative and will be able to hold lots of digital pictures, links, even some video. Can anybody recommend me a particular program that is user friendly (or a website specifically for website building)? Again, I'm a beginner but willing to spend time learning.... I just don't want to do it with 6 different programs until I find the right one I want to use.

    thanks

I recommend Adobe GoLive. Its really simple to use and learn, not to mention effective. Its a WUSIWUG program (what you see is what you get). For more information check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_GoLive

    Bandit and muslim,

thank you for your replies. I will check out those programs!
Out of curiosity, do either allow the webbuilder to use things like noises, custom backgrounds, etc. I'd like my website to be really creative (it's a science website) so as browsers move the cursor over links, I'd like to have animal sounds and silly things like that. Do either of those programs allow me to do that?

I am willing to spend whatever time is necessary to learn the program, I'm the type that will stay up most of the night practicing and keep at it for days/weeks until I get it down pat, but I'd hate to do that with a program that in the end doesn't allow me the creativity I'd like. I have been told that Abobe Dreamweaver is a good one, but not necessarily "user friendly" for beginners.....any thoughts?

    thanks again!
