havn't built a machine a few years. i am an amd person, my last amd machine fried, so now i need to build a new one. i heard that the A8N SLI deluxe is pretty decent, since i am out of the loop, don't know where to buy. need some direction on a couple of gigs of memory. perhaps some corsair and some ideas on a good processor to put in it, along with the cooling solution. i saw someones setup on a post here:
    a8n-sli deluxe
    amd 64 opteron 175 2,2 ghz
2 gigs dual channel corsair xms ddr443
does this mb have raid ability? thanks. Mike

ps am using an old celeron 300a clocked at 464 with an old abit bh6
so you know now i have a dire need to gete off of this back-up.
I like to run suse linux, so want a decent machine to match.

Best bet would be to get the premium over the deluxe, a better board in terms if features, speed, noise and cooling.
If your looking at an Opteron, then the 170 is very overclockable on that board will go way over 2.2 with little effort.
Otherwise you could go for the 4400x2 cpu which clocks at 2.2.
Definately woth gettinga dual cpu which ever one you end up with.
The premium has 8 sata ports which give 4x nvidia raid and 4x sil raid, both raid, 0,1,5.
You won't go far wrong with corsair memory, however the ocz 4800 memory will give better oc results.

I'd say stick with exactly that, bar go A8N-SLi premium rather than A8N-SLi deluxe. Hell does that board do RAID. It does everything!
