Need an experts opinion

    Hi,
    i have my starview box in my room connect via a like 15m (two cables which i joined togeather in the middle buy twising the metal spikes inside togeather, then wraping electrial tape all around them) long cable.. when i first connected it it worked fine, for like 10mins then it when to no signal.. my question is do i need a new cable or a signal booster?????

    No you need to connect both ends of the coax together. Do this by using two coax connectors and a coax coupler, when you tie them together as you say the shield and the inner core are probably touching each other. Try to use a good UHF coax as well, e.g RG6


    My opinion would be to install a single run of cable and so get rid of the coupler in the middle. This will offer you a much better single quality, (less attenuation).
