I installed the Chameleon this week and I'm having bios problems. I know the install went okay, because the default linex bios works, but every other bios I have installed refuses to flash. Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone know of a bios that will work with the chameleon and xbox 1.2?
which bios's have you tried already. Do you have a programmer that you could use to flash the chip with?
you have to solder A15 to flash the chameleon from cromwell 1.8 bios if your having trouble flashing the chip with programmer- -get Xodus Programmer from http://www.xodus-chip.com/ and follow instructions on how to use EASIER THEN FLASHING WITH DOS! -use a fresh battery!
Sorry, I should have been more specific. I got the cromwell bios to work. I have the adapter so there was no soldering required. Although making sure I hit D0 was slightly difficult. There was something incompatible with the Bios (which were already working in a matrix chip) and the chameleon. I'm using Evox 3.6 and Xecutor 2.2 with no problems.
I'm having similar problems. I've just bought a Chameleon, using it on my 1.1 box. I can flash the Cromwell 1.8 bios to it fine, however any other bios I have tried just brings up the standard xbox logo. Tried various copies of evox (2.6, 3.6, D6, with and without ejectfix). Have checked the hashes online with xbtool and they check out. Laddin, did you have any luck flashing the Chameleon with Evox?
rohirrim, after flashing the chip with any evox bios there is no difference in the boot up. also, if you have a version 1.1 motherboard you need to use the 3.6 bios. the only thing [bold]the bios[/bold] does i let you play backup games and launch evox boot disks- and it does it in the normal xbox dash. Understand? Do a search for evox dash on on limewire or kazaa. http://xbox-scene.com/ is the best source of instructions out there. its got some pretty good tutorials on burning xiso's and setting up evox dash.
