    Nero OEM version 6
In Nero Express under recorder information is a drop down menu.
    [bold]Book type settings[/bold]
    Automatic
    DVD-Rom
    Phyical disk type
    Current recorder settings

I looked in the Help but could not find any explanation for the terms.
I guess I have been lucky so far in my burning efforts. However I would like to have some idea as to the meaning and use of the settings.
So could give me some answers here

    this explains everything about Booktyping:
    http://k-probe.com/bitsetting-booktype-faq.php

set the booktyping to Automatic! So every time you record a DVD using DVD+R(W) media it will automatically set the Booktype to DVD-ROM which is more compatible to most players! Read the above link and maybe your burner is able to booktype. good luck.

    Hi gargoyle4
Ok I can help on the 1st 3 - the last one I can just quess at
Automatic - If you have this set and your drive supports booktyping anytime you use +R/RW or +R DL media Nero will booktype the discs to DVD-Rom.

DVD-ROM Again drive needs to support booktyping and for +R media only. If automatic is not set than you can just choice when you want to booktype +R media.

Physical Disc Type - Disc would stay the same format - i.e +R not booktyped.
Note: -R media can not be booktyped so even if you had 'automatic' set Nero would not booktype to DVD-Rom.

Current Recorder Settings - My guess - Some drives will booktype automatically when using +R media no need for a utility or to have a program like Nero do it.

Booktyping sets a field in disc to appear as a DVD-Rom which is almost universally compatible w/ players.

edit to add: Hey IHoe - good link again :)
