Wanted to flash my 360-Elite so I checked the drive, looked like a benq. I ordered a blaster Next Edition (2nd gen one not the latest) + a USB to Sata cable (I have a laptop) and got to work only to realize my beloved benQ was actually a lite-on. Rather than ordering more parts I just paid a local guy $30 to flash it for me. He gave me a backup of the drive keys and firmware but he did not use the Blaster, he said it works better without it. Ok so question is, if I wanna revert back to the stock firmware before the next wave of updates can I do it with just my blaster-next edition and the backup key and firmware files he gave me? Or will I need to gt the Key extractor/CK3? Thanks.
no you wont be able to do that with a sata to usb adaptor. you either need to have a sata chipset on your com, or a pci card that has sata prefebly VIA.
Damn I keep reading mixed reviews about these USB to Sata cables... Youtube says they work forums say they dont but I guess in the long run forums have done me well. Anyway my neighbor has a desktop with onboard SATA so I could always try that or buy a VIA to use. Should I install the blaster though? Just installing it shouldnt change anything the modder did in terms of flashing right?
