Hi all, I am looking to get a dvd recorder and really don't know what to get. I have read so many horror stories on some of the forums regarding problems with just about every brand, I don't know which to trust. I am looking for something in the $150-$170 range and don't care about a HDD. I heard about a LG having networking capability for connection to a pc, which would be nice. Dual layer recording would also be a plus. One touch recording is a must. These are the brands I am considering, but feel free to add any:

    Panasonic
    Sony
    LG
    Samsung

I always buy LG. They play and record both formats +/-R - don't know about networking capability though - have to have a look in the instruction book.

I have dual layer recording but have never used it - the discs are very expensive over here (UK).

Sony is good but tends to be expensive, but I have been looking at a Sony hard drive recorder for TV. No discs. Friends have Panasonic but they seem to be fussy about what burned discs they play. Don't know anything about Samsung for DVD recording, but I like their LCD TVs.

    My 20p's worth. Good luck,

    Regards
