need help addicts

    Im brand new to this so bear with me.
    I want to flash my box but am clueless on how to do it. My system info says
    API ver:255e_E
    Boot ver:7.0
    22.July.2006

    What i need to know is EXACTLY what firmware n stuff i need and where to get it as its a bit confusin to a novice like me. Also my lap top doesnt hav a 9 pin port at the back so how do i get round this.

    I will be eternally grateful for your help

    first you eed to no if you have a real or genuine box ,18 vents = clone
    25 vents = genuine
    13 vents = 1st generation

    vents are the slits on the top of the box from top to bottom

    left scart = Clone
    Right scart= Genuine

    All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library.

    You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w Software Uploader), found in the Starvi*w software folder of the link.

    You will need version 4.00 firmware for GENUINES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.

    Its in the Starview firmware folder.

    im havin problems downloading the 4.00 firmware. It says windows cannot open the program. Any ideas?

    Sorry have to head, you need to open it with gtromloader as indicated above.
