NEED HELP ASAP

    hey i just installed a new operating system on my PC and it currently says that my Multimedia Audio Controller isnt working , everything else audio it works, and now its not ... im currently running a (hold ur laffs i know it sucks, but im making it my server comp) eMachines t2825 and the new operating system is Windows Server 2003 Enterprise edition..i went to the support site for my comp and it told me to d'load something called IOI 8-in-2 Media Reader Driver.......i tried and it told me that i needed to put SP1 on my XP, however, since im not running XP what in the hell am i supposed to do...please help me...im a n00b

    who makes the chipset for the motherboard & it is not emachine. is is intel, via, amd or sis??

    im pretty sure the mobo is intel (it uses intel drivers), but it has an nVidia chipset...

    did you do a windows update to see if sp1 is available for server 2003??

    yes i did and i already installed it however the problem still persits... i also went to nVidia's site and downloaded all the drivers i could find that matched my mobo, so im not sure what else i can do other than put XP back on my comp.

    why would you put a server os onto a home computer as you are better of with xp home or pro!!

    because i host lan parties and i need a quicker way to set them up and this way is the fastest...

    the 8in1 card reader is for digital camera memory & usb memory sticks. in the device manager under sound, what is the sound card called like ac97??

    idk...thanks for the help but i dont need it anymore... i put the server 2003 on a new (actual SERVER) comp today...and it works fine considering i dont need to have sound running to it..once again thank you for all the suggestions...if i have any more probs im def. coming here =)
