Need help- Box to Starview reconversion and rebooting

Can anyone help me, I have two starview decoders one of which I accidently loaded 'the Box' firmware onto and it won't work now. It just says The Box when on screen and nothing happens. How do I reconvert it back?

Also the other sv decoder; I have downloaded GTRom v4.00 software and Starview_H20070607_400eE_api firmware and followed the instructions I have found on this site but my sv still will not reboot. Neither of my decoders are clones. I have seen messages mentioning the need for 4.50 firmware (for Ireland), I'm not sure if the aforementioned firmware (Starview_H20070607_400eE_api) is the correct 4.50. Is it?

I'd be very grateful for any assistance on these matters.

The 4.50 firmware is only for "The Box".

 

The v4.50 is for the starview 2 TheBox only and for the Irish market the v4.51 is for the uk market the v4.00 is for the starview 1 only and all can be found on the bottom of my post under the eko link

 

Thank you all for your help. I have managed to reconvert my sv but still can't get either of them to reboot despite following the instructions to the letter with the software and firmware.

 

what does it say when u turn the receiver on ?

 

Just the usual scrambled. I checked and the emus on and the code is the same as it has been for ages. I tried auto and manual scanning and it says it's got so many channels for each but they don't come in. Under frequency I can only change it from whatever it is at by pressing left and it gives me 0000 etc. It won't move right to go higher and just goes back to its original frequency when turned off and back on again.

 

What area and cable provider are you ?

Try this

you will have to do > Menu > factory setting > code is 1668 press ok then turn box off
wait 1 min then turn back on then press ok to the language > Select English > then into installation
put your provider in there N*L etc . ok down to auto scan let it finish doing the scan do not stop if you see some come up as failed that is not a problem just let it carry on when it has found all the channels exit out back to menu press 1570 down to EMU and turn that ON ,exit exit exit and you should be sorted , let me know how you get on

 

I'm Dublin and N*L. I tried those instructions but the channels still come up scrambled.

 

Ok can you go into Menu 1570 and Nagravision and tell me what you have on the screen

OK thats fine

Go to Key Number and use the left arrow and go to key number 00 and tell me the key data

 

The left arrow won't work on key number. It just stays as 01. Typing 00 doesn't do anything to the key data either.

 

Try the right arrow and see if it goes to 00

If not type in 00 and input the key data as A9 86 6E EA 39 EA 09 49 and press OK to store , wait a sec or 2 and press exit 3 times

Tell me since this is the first time I've got it working again, if it goes again will the sv reboot itself since I've downloaded the firmware onto it or should I go through those steps you've given me?

If you flash the box with the latest firmwa*e you wont need to put the codes in again cos it should autoroll for you.

Hi again, the PPV channel and PPV football channels are the only hold outs. I think it has to do with the frequency they're on. I know how to change frequency now but do you know what the right frequency is for them?

 

There is no more PPV football and this channel is redundant, all football is now shown on Sly Sports and Setan** Sports, which you have.

The other PPV channel you have is for Sly Box Office, generally used for certain events which may be broadcast on this channel, i.e. boxing, wrestling, etc. which you will receive when broadcast.

 

Thats the least of your problems at this stage compare to last night you had nothing lol

 

Hello again. Thanks for all your help last time. I'm having the same trouble now as a lot of others. LivingTV +1, UKTV Gold+1 and TCM are scrambled. I've tried different frequencies including 395000 for UKTV Gold+1 & LivingTV+1 but with no results. Any ideas? Area is N*L Ireland and Dublin.

 

Just do an autoscan and it will pick them up for you at the end of your channel list.
