Hiya! First off, thanks for you help. In the past I have basically burned cds, this morning being my first try at a dvd. I am using Nero 6, that came with my computer. So I downloaded a few Dora movies that play fine on the computer but I wanted to burn them to DVD for my daughter. They were saved as a MPEG File and Windows Media file? I tried burning them but when I placed them in my DVD it couldn't read them. If someone could pretty please with sugar on top help..I would appreciate it. I also have some .avi files I would like to burn to DVD...I figure I need to convert these files but I'm not sure to what or how to do it. Kimberly
Hi there, Burning CD-R in the good old days was quite easy. Burning DVDs is as easy, it's to get the data ready before (Conversion) that is different All those internet movies usually come in .MPG / .AVI / .WMV format. They will all play on your computer. But to view them on a DVD player, they need to be formated/converted to the proper format. VSO DivxToDVD --> http://www.vso-software.fr/ is a great/easy tool to do just that. Once they are converted, you just need to burn it as a VideoDVD and voila, they can now be played in your home DVD player.
*S* Thanks! You are a life saver. I converted my first Dora movie (no more screaming child when the satalite goes out because Noggin is "broken"). One thing I noticed was that there is more then one file in the folder it was put in when converted. When burning the dvd will I need to burn all these files? Video_TPS.bup, Video_TPS.IFO etc? Or just the movie itself? Kimberly
Hi there, Everything in VIDEO_TS (All files) are important. I assume you installed the Freeware version v0.5.2b ? Reason I ask is the new (Pre-Release v1.99.13) has a built in burn engine. Anyway, once the file is converted, and you have the VIDEO_TS directory, it can be burned with any burning software. VSO CopyToDVD / Nero Burning Rom [VideoDVD] etc... CopyToDVD makes you open the main .IFO file, and then it will auto select everthing for you. Nero, make a VideoDVD, and drag all the files from VIDEO_TS on to the VIDEO_TS dir in your project. Then burn slow for the best results, specialy when dealing with video dvd. 2x on cheap media, 4x on good media. Feel free to ring me again if you still have issues ! DORA is cool, my son enjoys watching her even if he doesn't understand english yet. We are French Canadians. But he will eventually catch it on as I did !
