Hey I was wondering if there is a way to copy vhs to dvd if I have a dvd burner on my computer. Can I somehow just connect a vcr to my computer and do it directly? I have a Hewlett Packard Pavillion AMD 64 3400+. Please help me out thanks.

Yes I have read that but am still a little confused. I'm a complete newbie at this and wouldn't know if I had what is neccessary to hook the vcr up or even how to.

    You need a capture device.
You need the cables to go from the VCR to the capture device.
You need some software to run it.
You need an encoder (unless you capture directly to mpeg-2).
    You need an authoring application.
    You need a burning program.
    You need blank disks.
    You need a DVD burner.
