Alright, I've been looking for a new laptop to get ever since my old one broke about a month ago. I've narrowed it down to two laptops, and both have great features so I'm on the fence on this.

These are the two laptops I'm considering. Both are pretty good, they both have 4 gigs of ram, a 2 ghz processor, built in webcam, built in microphones, and are less than 6 pounds. However, I like the HP's design much more than the Gateways, and it has a bigger hard drive also, but according to the CNET review on bestbuy, the Gateway is considerably better and cheaper. The way the laptop looks is a huge selling point for me, which is why I'm leaning more towards the HP.

Sorry, I accidently made the thread before I was done typing.

Anyway, my real question was which processor is better: an Intel or an AMD? I've read many conflicting statements on the internet about them. Some people say an Intel is better than an AMD all around, people say that Intels don't get as hot, and others say the same for AMD. My old laptop had an AMD processor, and it would get extremely hot sometimes even on hard surfaces that dissipate heat well. Which one performs the best and which one has the lowest temperature during basic computing?
