I am trying to get my xbox to play my backed up DVDs. It supports playback on some disks fine. But I'd like it to playback DVD+R, since I have two packs of them just collecting dust. I heard this was possible if I can change the booktype to DVD-ROM. I'm trying to do this, but having trouble. Is this possible? My drive is a TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-L532A.

My version of Nero doesnt allow me to change booktype, so I'm trying to do it with ImgBurn. I went to change booktype, selected Samsung, change for: Drive(For DVD+R Media) but for current setting it says "Unknown(Failed!" with the reason "Invalid Command Operation Code" Is there a way to fix this? Or another way to get my DVD+R's to work? Thanks.

What version is your Nero? Nero 6, 7, 8 and 9 all supported booktype if your burner is capable of bi-setting/booktyping.

<><> to booktype using Nero Express or Burning Rom <><>

<> before start to Burn, click on "Options" next to your burner
<> under "Book Type Settings:" use arrow to seletct "Automatic"
<> click OK and press "Burn" when ready

<><> to booktype using ImgBurn <><>

<> before start to burn, click on "Device"
<> click on little book icon (Change Booktype)
    <> select your burner
<> Change For: click on DVD+R media
<> under New Setting: click DVD-ROM, then Change, click OK and OK

NOTE: make sure your burner is capable of changing booktype and make sure it has the latest firmware.
