I'm currently in the process of building a new PC, that i will use as a general pc, but mostly for watching TV show avi files and DVD's and need advice on selecting a Monitor for it. I was initially considering a large widescreen monitor such as the the Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW which has many features and high resolution. But after looking at the many great deals around for 26" and 32" LCD TVs (many under £700) I'm completely confused as to which to choose. The LCD TV's offer much better value for the screen size you are getting but I wonder what the differences would be between the two as I've searched but can't find any help on the issue. The screen will be positioned on a desk and I sit roughly 2-3 feet away from it. My usage of the monitor would be roughly 70% TV Show & DVD viewing and 30% web browsing, applications use and gaming. Can anyone help advise me on which would be best?
i got a Samsung 32inch HD ready LCD tv, HDMI connection, PC connection (can't remember the resolution but it's real high, like 1366 x something), i have all my games consoles plugged into it, dvd recorder, dvd player (normal one) and HD dvd player, virtually every connection filled. it's an awesome tv, absolutely the best gadget i ever bought. Even has Freeview built-in, though as it's built-in, dvd recorders can't get at the Freeview, so i picked the dvd recorder to have Freeview of it's own, so i basically have twin Freeview
