just wondering is there any free programs that will do a good job with converting a DVD to a WMV i want to edit a dvd and take out certain clips using windows media maker. Or is there any other way i can do this without converting it?

That was a spam you linked to, Owendeng. A quick search of all posts by that poster showed the same ad. I hope it was by accident.
Don't convert it to WMV! That will cause a loss in quality. A much better way is to use VOB Blanker to load your DVD and then you can blank individual cells. For more fine tuned editing, you can split the individual cells and then blank the ones you do not like. This will cause NO loss in quality whatsoever.
