Greetings. I've been using DVD Decrypter without incident for some time now in conjunction with DVD Shrink. Recently, however, DVD Decrypter will not recognize the blank disk in my drive. I can run movies and games, but Decrypter will not recognize the blank disk to burn. I've bought two sets of disks (Imation and Memorex) and neither work. I d/led the trial version of Nero, it won't recognize it either. Before I start tearing apart my only working comp, I wanted to see if anyone out there has seen this problem and could shed some light on it. Thx
Sorry, but it's not Decrypter that's the problem. It merely reports what your writer detects or doesn't. In my experience, Memorex are particularly bad media. The 4x's were sometimes OK, but the 8x were pretty bad. I have no experience with Imation. Sometimes even blanks that worked in the past will become incompatible. Many times it's because the brand name switched suppliers or the suuplier changed the formulation of the inks/dyes. Suggestions: 1. Get better quality media: Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Ritek GO4, most Japan-made Sonys. 2. Look for a firmware update from your drive manufacturer. They may have updated the blank disc compatibility table.
