I have an encoder that I use to use in Windows '98 but I can't get it to work in Windows XP. I've tried to use the XP's compatiablitiy wizard and that says that it should be working fine but everytime I try to pick an AVI file to encode it says something about file not supported. Do I need to download some sort of plug in or something to get it to support these AVI files on Windows XP? I have been using TMPGEnc 2.56.39.143 to encode my AVI files in '98 but why it won't work in XP is a puzzle to me. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
Make sure you have the required codecs. The most commonly used is DivX www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/divx_pro_for_windows.cfm http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/divx_pro_for_windows.cfm
