can somebody tell me what the difference in these two cables besides price? is one better than the other? heres the links to the cables http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812118051 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812117701 also wanted to add that i'm going to be using a cable/dsl router w/ 4 port switch. can i use these cables with it?
possibly but not certain because nothing mentioned on other cable. check with newegg to see if they know the difference of the 2 cables.
lol buy the cheap one we use generic cable for everything and our network actually runs at a gig I think the '500' is so they can charge more, not that it is better
@pcrepair but i'm going to be using a linksys cable/dsl router w/ 4 port switch.will it work with any one of these cables?
They're both FT Cat 5E. apart from the fact one is guaranteed to work at 500MHz (which is outside the specs required in the standard) and the other isn't and the price there is absolutely no difference. They will work with all hubs, switches, routers and cable modems. Industry standard. http://www.thetechdictionary.com/te...le_standard)?gclid=CKyWlKze0oUCFUMhQgodFVI60w http://all-free-info.com/cat5-cable/
ok thanks to all that help answer my questions. also thanks janrocks for the links, looks like i can go with the cheaper costing one because they both are pretty much the same cable.
