I recently got a new sony viao laptop...after a few days everytime i would log on to the internet...it would always try to connect to a webpage..which when it does connect it says it not found...or ill get a creidit card ad or a antisaywareexpert ad..sometimes ads come up when i first log on to the internet...i have mcafee from comcast..and i tried maleware bytes removal software...it dectects 3 trojans.... I Have tried adware removal, spy-bot, trojan killer....i even tried going into the registry to remove what some found as trjoans but no luck it keeps coming back...arrrggg! I also tried adware away...it gave me these files as bad.. IE UrlSearchHook(HKLM) : Default UrlSearchHook Missing= File Association : regfile=regedit.exe"%1"%* File Association ; scrfile="%1"%* But They want me 2 pay to get rid of these...im hesitant cause im afraid what if it doesnt get rid of them...neways Thanks for the help!
we will try this first: Download combofix from one of these links and save it to your Desktop: http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts. When finished, it will produce a report for you. Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log. Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze.
Hi SR5380. I just have one question: Have you ran your antimalware programs in safe mode? It may help because safe mode will disable the malware running, does disallowing the replacement of the infected registry keys. Your problem also sounds like a rootkit one, as no infected files are found, only registry keys which keep getting replaced. Please also download GMER, and then post the log here. Best Regards
