You can't FTP to where? To your XBOX, a web site, etc...?

If it's FTPing on your local network, the easiest way is to make sure that DHCP is enabled on your network and then try. With DHCP eabled, all devices should automatically be assigned an IP address within the routers range.

To help you further, a lil' more info is needed.

But if he has modded an Xbox or PS2 for networking and FTp'ing, the IP addresses are static and read from a config.dat (or similar) file. If the config file (which is only a text file with the IP, subnet and gateway) is not setup, the FTP server on the game unit will use a default IP (ie. 192.168.0.10 for PS2's Execftp).

Before I keep rambling here, dankad needs to get back to us with more specifics about what is actually not working correctly.

    Um,
If he has a modded XBOX (not sure about PS2) the settings can be changed within the dashboards network settings same as a computer's TCP/IP area for network connections. There may be a default but he can make the final address and all settings whatever he please.
