Am technoligcally challenged big-time, so pls bear with me! Have cable (but no box), have Panasonic plasma HDTV, and trying to get the tv to work through my new Samsung HT-TZ512. Connected with an HDMI cable. The DVD, IPOD, and tuner all work fine, with all speakers working okay. Do I need this "Optical" connector I've seen in some of these posts? I did not see that instruction in my manual. I'm thoroughly frustrated and SuperBowl starts in less than an hour! Help, anyone?
i just bought the same model and yes you need a optical cable. you can buy a 6ft at walmart for $16.00
Doah2, thanks for the reply. We ended up calling Samsung and found all we needed were the yellow AV composite cables. Had some around the house and hooked it up and all is fine now and just have to set the HT to Aux 2 when we want the TV audio through the HT speakers. Maybe this will help someone else
