The noise is more than likely comming from one of your fans open your case and locate the offending fan and enquire about more silent one from your local computer shop

i checked where the noise is coming from, it is not coming from the power unit fan (or watever it is called) its coming from below it where there is a smaller fan (im not sure what this is called)

if on the motherboard & is the only fan on it than that is the cpu fan.

possibly a heat problem. check in bios under hardware monitor or something like that to see what the temp is. check your local computer store to see what cpu heatsink/fan fits your board. remember to get 1 for p4 not amd!

the Nec motherboard info i got from CPU-Z it said my mobo was : Nec Computer International - model: GA-81915PM

this motherboard is not supported by MBM5, and is there prog to check out your bios info out or to check out your temperature

thnx once again, you've been ultra helpful

if need be i can post a jpeg image to you of what the fan looks like and where is so that way you can give me your professional view
